Hubby and I went fishing on the Fox River Wednesday. It was a nice day out. Around 50 degrees or so. Not bad for us here in Wisconsin during November. The river has been pretty active for us. Pat caught 4 fish in a two hour time period. I wasn't able to catch a thing! Usually I can keep up but not that day. He outfished me with his first fish being a NICE smallie. Hubby n I went for a walk at a local park in a near by city where they having problems of too many deer in the area. Next year they looking at giving ppl permits to take them out with bows. I am putting some pics on my page for you all to drewl over n get ready for the hunt coming up. I know some places already started bow hunting. I am waiting for November for gun. Went fishing last night. Went to Berry Lake in Oconto County. The water was so low from shore we couldn't launch the boat. We tried several times with no luck. Thought we were gonna get the truck stuck. It was like quick sand. My shoes ended up covered in the crap. Couldn't get the trailer in the water far enough to get the boat far enough into the water to push off. Truck was darn near water up to the bumper so I was kind of ticked we couldn't launch. Hey! I'm back from my trip! Had a great time. Of course it's never long enough that you can be gone fishing. The first half of the week was warm and beautiful. The second half of the week was cold and rainy. We did catch fish every time we went out. But they were on the small side. Caught mostly bass. I think we got one or two snakes. Ok ya all, don't miss me to much while I'm gone. Heading out to Lake Buckatabon in just a few short hours so I gotta go get my sleep so I can catch the big ones! Only two days left and we hit the road to Conover Wisconsin- (4hrs NORTH!). Every year we take a week and rent a cottage with my parents and split expenses and fish until our arms fall off. Well, I do any way. If there is a thing as fisher's elbow or casting-itis, I will have it by the time the week is over. I will also have to check in to bass rehab when I get back. I am so pumped! We are going to Lake Delavan this weekend- borders Wisconsin and Illinois. This lake is over 2,000 acres in size. Every report I have read and every picture I have seen is enough to make anyone drewl! This lake has several species of fish: lg mouth bass, sm mouth bass, northern, walleye, musky and tons of different species of pans and huge bluegills. Ok, well I am pretty disappointed that we didn't get to go fishing this weekend. Hubby had to work Saturday and it did nothing but RAIN here today. It was only about 55 degrees windy and rained off and on for most of the day and it's raining non-stop right now. We went fishing again on Sunday in Gresham. We started out at lower red because we wanted to check it out, never fished there. It was pretty much weeds every where. I wouldn't say totally weed choked but the weeds in some places were up to the water surface. Alot of it you were able to run a spinnerbait across the top without hanging up. Well I finally scored a bass on a jig today!!! I was so excited. It was sweet and a rush! I was using it for a little while and I casted up in to some thick stuff and as soon as it hit, it barely had time to fall and BAM! I kept the line as tight as could be the whole way back to the boat! I got it!!!! I was using a 1/2 oz pro series flipping jig with a black round rubber and purple with blue glitter scale silicone mix skirt and had a double bungee worm trailer. YaHOO!! Well Bass season opener weekend finally made it to Wisconsin! At least in the southern zone. I wasn't able to go on the official day it opened, May 2nd. I was able to go out Sunday May 3rd for a little while.
We (my hubby and I) went to Long Lake in Brillion WI. Not our first choice of lake but had to make due because it was close by and we didn't have alot of time. Weather wasn't too bad. Around 60 degrees and windy. The lake was pretty clear. You could see bottom at 4ft.
