T R ☆ Y Night Fishing During the Heat of Summer

I love night fishing! Especially during the heat of summer! Bass will be more active at night if water temperatures are too warm to feed during the day. Also lakes that are pressured by lots of fishermen during the day will produce more at night. Plus your not having to fight over a spot on… Continue

Terry Condon Champlain Dreams

The first tournament of the BFL Empire division was out of the South Bay launch in Whitehall, NY. 110 boats, 109 co-anglers. I fished for 2 days prior to this event and landed a grand total of 2 little largemouth bass. To say that my confidence wasn't overwhelming was an understatement. My boater draw for this tournament was Scott Fairchild from West Point. We met after the draw and he said he had a spot that he camped on for 2 hours and no one else came in to scout the area. The forecast was al… Continue

T R ☆ Y Using Airplanes to Help You Fish...... Sort Of

Using airplanes to help you fish, or atleast scout out areas. Thats what a few of Elite Series Pros did for last weeks Genuity River Rumble tournament. Rick Clunn was one of them, who finished 17th, his highest finish so far this year. He said that there was some places you'd miss by boat but can see clearly by plane. Now we all know navigation is key to fishing, especially during a tournament. For $120 for an 80 minute ride seems funny to me. Yeah and I know the distance they covered with the… Continue

T R ☆ Y Full Moon Lunkers!

Is it true? Alot of animals use full moons for their time to spawn, hatch, shed, etc. Is it true for bass too? Well maybe so! It's said that animals are more active during key lunar phases like the full moon and new moon. The world recod largemouth was caught in June and supposedly during a full moon. After reading an article I thought to myself. I went fishing on a full moon last sunday and caught a nice bass (pictured below) and had another huge one roll on me but didn't hit. I'll be sure to… Continue

T R ☆ Y Want to Learn More About a Certain Lure?

I know there are some lures that I will not even touch because I'm just not confident with them. Whether it is not knowing too many tricks on working them or just never having much success with them they'll just sit there in my tackle box. There are so many lures out there it is h… Continue

T R ☆ Y What Lures Would You Buy With $200?

Me and my girlfriend decided to take a long road trip to Cabella's and Bass Pro Shops yesterday which included 5 hours of driving around 500+ miles, alot of laughs, from us and the Dane Cook stand up we were listening to, and a whole lot of tolls and gas. BassGirl5672 My 1st Bass of 2009

Well Bass season opener weekend finally made it to Wisconsin! At least in the southern zone. I wasn't able to go on the official day it opened, May 2nd. I was able to go out Sunday May 3rd for a little while.
We (my hubby and I) went to Long Lake in Brillion WI. Not our first choice of lake but had to make due because it was close by and we didn't have alot of time. Weather wasn't too bad. Around 60 degrees and windy. The lake was pretty clear. You could see bottom at 4ft.
It wasn't… Continue

T R ☆ Y Home-Made SUV Fishing Rod Ceiling Rack

So I just got a little Ford Escape a little while back. It was a pain trying to find a place to put mine and my cousins rods, trying to run them down the side of the truck. I'm not a fan of keeping them outside the truck either; I'm not about to let an expensive pole get snapped o… Continue

T R ☆ Y Bass Strikes Back! DO NOT read if you are squeemish!

For years and years bass have been hooked by anglers for sport. I've always been told it didn't hurt. Well maybe it doesn't, maybe they just don't like being dragged in? I say this because last night something strange happened while night fishing on crystal lake and I witnessed it first… Continue

T R ☆ Y Passing On "The Tradition"

A bass is reeled in by one of my cousins, big smiles on our faces. After a 'Jimmy Houston' kiss, familiar words are heard, "Thanks Pop-Pop", and the fished is placed back into the water. Words said in rememberance of my Grandfather who had passed away from cancer years ago. In
