I've been fishing all my life and the past couple of years I've been meaning to pick up a baitcaster. I did some research and I've got my sights on the Shimano Citica 200E. Or should I just go with the Curado, because it is much better with lighter lures?
I have 2 Curados and 3 Quantum Accurist500(approx $90)and can't tell a bit of difference. So of course I favor the cheaper.Accurists also have a brake fine tune dial where you have to play with the mags on the Curado.I remember trying to learn on a real cheap Diawa and just about gave it up.Someone convinced me to get a Curado, and quality does make a difference. But I only but the Quantums now.Just my input
T R ☆ Y, you'll have to excuse my previous reply. After I posted it I realized I was a little late...March 9th to July 3rd...if I waited a couple more months it could have been a Christmas present for ya.
T R ☆ Y (and all the members), Have a great and safe July 4th weekend,
Honestly when I started using baitcasters I didn't feel like using a reel that was gonna cost a fortune so I looked for something that was pretty cheap too. I went to basspro shops and found their extreme baitcasters for $60. I loved those baitcasters when I was getting started. I could throw anything from 1/8 oz jigs and up. So if I were you I would give the basspro shops extreme a good look.
i dont know what kind i just bought but it is the worst piece of junk that i could ever spend twenty bucks on. i went to k mart just to get a cheap one. all it is good for is dropping something straight down. it is impossible to cast with it. it was a waist of money that could have bought me a new rapala.
ok well if you dont want to spend too much then go with the Shimano Corolis CD100E and for a rod I would go with a Berkley Lightning rod. I have used this combination for years and they work fine for me
