i really never used other fishing line then power pro. i see a lot of people use mono because the fish will not tend to see it, but not to sure what type to get.
The type of line depends on the application. I have rods rigged with power pro, flurocarbon and mono. I use power pro and fluro the most. Power pro for jigs and other reation strike lures. Fluro for cranking, drop shot, or clear water. i only use mono now for topwater. It is just too strtchy and hard to deal with. Mono has really bad feel due to stretch.
I mostly use fluorocarbon, but I do use mono and braid. I'll use mono for my top water and braid for frogs and heavy grass. The fluoro I use for most of my fishing, it is low stretch, less memory than mono, and it has lower visiblilty. I have never used power pro before so I am not sure how it handles. I use Vicious Line for fluorocarbon, mono, and braid. Vicious is cheaper than the other brands of fluoro it's $10 for 250 yards.
Cajun Red 12 lb. test. Started using it after my striper guide was telling me about it. Been using it for about 4 or 5 years now and its never let me down so far. Casts extremely far when used with Blakemore Reel Magic spray.
power pro i learned is not the the best for baitcasters, but ill definetly give flurocarbon and mono a try but like i said i always used power pro and it is a good type of line to use for soft baits and even top, but when i use it on my baitcaster it is just a mess tangling up.
